Sensei Frangella began training in the martial arts in 2003 and has run Fusion Martial Arts since 2015! He is currently a 4th-degree black belt!
He has competed extensively on the NASKA circuit (professional martial arts) for years and won several world titles for forms and weapons, as well as performed and competed all over the world!! Some of his most exciting achievements in the martial arts has been performing live for the Make A Wish Foundation, as well as doing stunt work for several large movie franchises. Outside of martial arts, he is a husband as well as a dad to a martial arts princess.
He is certified as a head instructor in American Kenpo, has level one certification in Kali (Filipino Martial Arts), and hold ranks as a student in TaeKwonDo as well as BJJ. From 2012-2015 he was the head instructor for East West Karate in Mesa AZ and has taught in one on one, small group, and large group settings ever since!! Teaching has been a passion of his as Martial arts has changed his life for the better, and for the last several years, he has watched it change hundreds of others as well!
He is grateful for the opportunity to continue doing what he loves, and to provide the opportunity for our INCREDIBLE team at FMA to make this a career as well.

"Karate has been something I’ve wanted to do since I was 5 years old, and was able to make that dream a reality after moving from California to Arizona. In the 6 years since I’ve started training I’m proud to say I’ve always done my best to help others and myself reach for higher goals, and was beyond honored to be asked to become an instructor and share my knowledge.
With a good knowledge base in kinesiology and a degree in arts and humanities, I strive to demonstrate excellence in balancing mind and body.
Since my earliest days I’ve played several sports including baseball, soccer, softball and high school football. I’ve even raced motorcycles for a while! But now, I burn with passion to better myself and those around me with the martial arts.
To learn and share my journey with all of you, I am truly humbled to say the least. Thank you for these opportunities presented to me."

“I am 43 years old and mom to one amazing kid. I have been training in the martial arts since September 2022 but have been a karate mom for 7 years. I started karate after my son Kayden encouraged me to give “Parents Train Free” a try. I never thought I would love being on the mat as much as I do. I continue to surprise myself with what I CAN do. It’s been an absolute blast training on the mat alongside my son and the other parents.
My passion is serving and I’m thrilled to be on the mat capturing moments from our events, classes and belt exams. As a Black Belt parent, it is my hope to bring us together as a community to support our kids, the QC staff and all the families who make Fusion Martial Arts such a special place. I work hard to bring fun events and volunteer opportunities to our local QC community.
I love helping however I can and appreciate Sensei Frangella and the entire QC staff who gave me this opportunity to give back and step into the role of Program Director and Volunteer President for FMA. Besides Fusion, I work as an Executive Virtual Assistant for other business owners. I do what I do best (keep them organized) so they can do what they love (serve their clients). It’s given me the opportunity and flexibility to do what I love and step out in new ways. I am excited to use my organization and people skills to help Team Fusion in any way I can.”

After some time away in 2019, I came back to the karate world with a new found look at life. I was taking the sport seriously. In the summer of 2020, I began teaching classes. I was even hired on as an assistant instructor at a studio in Gilbert, Az in the fall of 2021. Since then my love for karate has skyrocketed! I absolutely love what I do! To see my students grow and learn about not just karate but themselves is everything to me. In 2022, I certified as a instructor with my studio in Gilbert and I was even more excited to teach the sport that I love. In 2023, I stepped away for a while and came back and didn’t have any passion for the sport anymore. I thought I was done with it forever until I visited Fusion. Once I stepped foot in the door, I knew this was my home. Fusion gives me the strength to be a beacon of light for my community! My goal is to open up my own Fusion studio so I can bring good back into the world. I believe switching to Fusion is the absolute best decision I made in my karate life! With the strength it gives me, I know for sure that I want to do this forever!

In that time, I spent 3 years as a head instructor under Sensei Frangella at the Queen Creek studio and 2 years managing/operating a studio in Gilbert. My passion for martial arts is predominantly rooted in competition. I have competed throughout the country in various tournaments as a member of team FSK with a focus on extreme forms.
Currently, I’m in my final year of studying for a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems and a minor in psychology at Arizona State University. Upon graduation, I plan to work in the field of coding or database management. I’m looking forward to being back and working with everyone!"

"Hi everyone, my name is Sensei E. Velasco! I am the other Sensei Velasco’s sister so if I look familiar, that’s why! I started martial arts as a Little Dragon with my two brothers and a bunch of my cousins. As I grew older, I found a passion for competition and traveled around the country to compete at national tournaments with Sensei Frangella and the rest of Team FSK. I love going to tournaments and competing in all the divisions possible since I love creative, weapons, traditional forms AND sparring! I am also always open to giving tips about competing so feel free to ask!
I am currently taking classes for a degree in Biomedical Science at Arizona State University and plan to attend Medical School to become a doctor like my dad once I graduate. In addition to martial arts, I am also a wrestler and had the pleasure of starting a women’s wrestling club at ASU. My goal is to one day represent our country and compete internationally in wrestling.
I am so excited to be a part of the Fusion Martial Arts team and help spread the love I have for karate with all of our students and those in our community."

On top of this I have also competed at tournaments around the country on team FSK (Fusion Sport Karate). In the future, I plan on becoming a firefighter! I am currently studying to earn my EMT certification, to take the next step to be a fireman"With big goals and aspirations like that, Sensei Velasco is going to go far. We couldn't be more proud or happier for him! While he isn't stepping away completely, he is moving out to Tempe this June and will be focusing on his education mainly. If you see him between now and then, make sure to give him some knuckles and wish him the best on his journey!

“I have been part of the karate community for over three years. Having my husband and two children in karate at the Queen Creek studio and staying for the transition to Fusion MA my family and I have grown strong roots in the FMA garden. I have volunteered for summer kids camps as well as numerous other events and camps at the studio since 2022 and it was an obvious and ecstatic YES when I was offered the position of Camp Director.
I am a double-certified 200HR YTT trained Yoga instructor. I received my certifications through both the Sacred Hot Yoga Method and AngelHeal Yoga Teacher Training. I am also certified by the state of New Mexico for completion of the Early Care, Education, and Family Support 45-Hour Course: Foundations in the Seven Basic Competencies. My passion for both working with children and being able to still have time for family drew me to working with and for FMA. I am very excited to be joining the FMA family and looking forward to creating lifetime connections and memories with everyone in the Fusion community!”
